Bahamas Trip

Katie & Trey had booked a trip to the Bahamas back in November and invited us to go along, but we felt that Tyler was a little young at that point to leave him for an extended period of time (and to be so far away)... BUT, a hurricane was going thru the Bahamas when they were supposed to be going in November, so they rescheduled for January. So Rodney and I went ahead and decided to tag along.

Grandma came to pick Tyler up Friday afternoon. We loaded her car down with all sorts of stuff! It was sad to see the little guy go, but we knew we'd see him again soon enough. So we got ready for dinner and met Jake & Sara at Saltgrass Steakhouse for some good ol food and drinks! We had to call it an early night as our flight was leaving at 7:00 am the next morning. The flights were good and we arrived at Sandal's around 2:00 Saturday afternoon.

Katie & Trey were supposed to arrive about an hour before us, but due to a passport mishap, they didn't arrive until Tuesday afternoon. Unfortunatly we didn't get to spend as much time with them as we had planned, but we were happy that they were able to get there on Tuesday (before we were leaving Wednesday morning). We enjoyed relaxing on the beach (although the water was a little too chilly to get in). We went on an excursion on a speed boat to the Exumas, some uninhabited islands and managed to snorkel (although we were freezing when we got in!). It was nice to go to dinner and not have to worry about cooking or cleaning anything up! We had a great time, but by the end of the trip we were ready to see our little guy.

Grandma & Pepaw had a good time with him while we were gone. I'm sure he wore them out, but we were really appreciative that they were willing to watch him so that we could take a little vacation. Thanks so much!!
